On one instance during Paris Saint-(PSG) Germain’s 2-1 win against Juventus on Tuesday (6 September), its star forward Neymar appeared obviously furious with Kylian Mbappe.

PSG had a strong start to their UEFA Champions League campaign in 2022-23. Mbappe scored two first-half goals to give Paris an early lead in their home match.

However, following some brilliant work by Lionel Messi, the 23-year-old was put through on goal in the 51st minute of the game.

With Neymar in assistance, Kylian Mbappe might have played a square pass to the Brazilian, who would have had an open goal in front of him.

However, the French superstar decided to go for glory and tried to smash it at the near post to complete his hat-trick. Unfortunately for him, his effort was well off target.

The No. 10 of PSG was irritated by his teammate’s decision-making. The duo teamed brilliantly for their team’s first two goals.

Weston McKennie found the back of the net in the 53rd minute to give the Bianconeri hope. However, it was insufficient for the Old Lady, as their opponents remained defensively disciplined for the remainder of the game.

At the outset of the season, the relationship between PSG’s superstar forwards, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, was heavily scrutinised.

However, before of his team’s game against Juventus, the French forward highlighted that they had many hot and cold moments at the club together.

According to Sky Sports, the World Cup victor said the following about his buddy when speaking to reporters:

“To talk about Neymar, this is the sixth year, I think we’ve always had a relationship like this based on respect. But we’ve always had moments like this where sometimes we’ve had moments that were a bit colder and moments that were a bit hotter.

“But there is a lot of respect, I have a lot of respect for the player he is, the player he represents and the importance he has in our team.”

The Frenchman further added that when there are two strong characters like them in a team, these types of things are bound to happen. But that doesn’t deter their mutual respect.

“Afterwards, when you have two players with a strong character like that, life is not linear, it’s sure that sometimes things happen but it always remains in the respect and in the interest of PSG.”
