EA Sports FIFA 16: TOTW Predictions(4/20/16-4/26/16)

-

This is something that we’ve decided to start doing due to the immense number of people that use the team of the week to make a bit of a profit in FIFA Ultimate Team. Although obviously not the official list, this is a list of the players that we think will make it into the team of the week (the edition that’s going to come out this week).

I am going to divide this predicted lineup into three sections so that you get to pick and choose which players you want to pick up from the market. The first section, called the ‘Big Names’, are the players that are renowned in the footballing world and names that potentially anyone who doesn’t even play soccer will recognize (e.g. Messi, Suarez, Neymar, Ronaldo, Rooney, Ibrahimovic, etc.). After them are the ‘Big Bets’, players that are either rising stars or those that are not in the world class category, not yet anyway. In short, these are the guys that most people will likely invest into because of their reasonable price tags (e.g. Pedro, Willian, Kane, Busquets, Müller, Aubameyang, etc.). And last but not least are the ‘Big Risks’, which are players that are largely unheard of outside of the footballing world, but are either currently on fire or growing into a more renowned player (e.g. Lucas Pérez, Dimitri Payet, Lanzini, Kurzawa, etc.).

  • The Big Names – Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Angel Di Maria, Sergio Agüero, Francesco Totti
  • The Big Bets –  Javier Mascherano, Nicolas Otamendi, Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen
  • The Big Risks – Heurelho Gomes, Aaron Creswell, Eric Dier, Sofiane Boufal, Vincent Janssen, Justin Meram

Okay, so this week may turn out to be one of the better ones. Ibrahimovic scored a brace against Caen, and Agüero got a hat-trick against the pitiful Chelsea. Obviously, whenever Ibra scores a brace, Di Maria also has to chime in with some assists and a wonderfully taken goal. Dele Alli and Harry Kane do not need any explanation; they were simply exceptional, along with the rest of the Spurs team, against an otherwise well-managed Stoke side. Heurelho Gomes saved two penalties, both against Saido Berahino (who might not be taking any more penalties for his team anytime soon). Cresswell scored a stunner right into the upper right against league leaders Leicester. Mascherano was embarrassed by his team as he didn’t put a foot wrong during the game against Valencia; and had he not been there, the Catalans could have easily conceded 5 or 6 more goals.
