France have left out a number of stars from their 2020 Euro squad list

-

We all know that France have an incredible number of talented players available to play for them, however it is incredible when you take a look at the players who have been left out of the upcoming 2020 UEFA European Championships.

Les Blues are one of the favourites to win the competition when it takes place, and with the 26 players that Didier Deschamps has been able to call up, it is hardly a surprise that they are considered to be one of the main bets, especially with those who visit allvideoslots China.

A total of 26 players would usually leave teams sometimes finding it rather hard to be able to continue to pick incredible talent, however the current FIFA World Cup winners have left out a host of stars as they look to claim two of international football’s biggest titles back-to-back.

Whilst Karim Benzema returned to the fold after a number of years away from the France set-up, there are a number of players who will have been left disappointed in each position.

Goalkeepers Alphonse Areola – who was part of the FIFA World Cup-winning squad, Benoit Costil and Stephane Ruffier were all overlooked despite playing regularly well for their respective teams, however their omission meant that Lille’s star stopper, Mike Maignan, was awarded a place.

There are a number of excellent defenders to have missed out on a place in Deschamps’ squad, with both Benjamin and Ferland Mendy both omitted due to Everton’s Lucas Digne’s involvement, whilst Djibril Sidibe and Ruben Aguilar both miss out to Lyon’s Leo Dubois.

Furthermore, Aymeric Laporte’s decision to pledge his allegiance to Spain cost him a potential spot, whilst both Samuel Umtiti and Dayot Upamecano were both left out as well; further highlighting just how strong the defensive options for Les Blues are.

It has been argued that France perhaps have the best depth and the most strength in numbers in their midfield position and it is clear just how good it is with the world-class talent that has been omitted from the 2020 European Championships.

Blaise Matuidi and Steven Nzonzi were both left out, whilst three of the brightest youngsters also shockingly did not make the cut. Tanguy Ndombele, Houssem Aouar and Eduardo Camavinga have all missed out.

However, there have been places for Moussa Sissoko and Adrien Rabiot, although many would argue they do not deserve to be a part of the squad given the seasons that they have had.

Attackers such as Nabil Fekir, Florian Thauvin and Jonathan Ikone have all been left out as Marcus Thuram made the cut, whilst Moussa Diaby was also left out.

Benzema’s return meant that Premier League duo Anthony Martial and Alexandre Lacazette would be left out, as was Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard.
