So far, Manchester City has had an excellent transfer window. They have signed one of the best young players in Erling Haaland with the addition of Kalvin Philips who will be a backup to Rodri.
They have also gone on to sign Stefan Ortega who is a goalkeeper and will provide a reliable backup to Ederson.
Brighton’s left-back Marc Cucurella is on the radar too, with Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus successfully offloaded to London-based clubs, Manchester City has had a stellar transfer window so far!
But personally, I feel, the signing of Julian Alvarez which was successfully completed in the winter transfer window could turn out to be ‘the signing’ if next season is considered.
But hang on, that’s not all though! If the rumors are true and they are only rumors, Manchester City can go from having a stellar transfer window to having a dream transfer window!
According to reports, Neymar Jr could be heading to Manchester City!
If this happens, the PSG superstar could be seen linking up with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and the other million superstars, City have at the Etihad!
Manchester City, according to 90min, has been contacted by the 30-year-old’s advisors. PSG are apparently eager to offload the Brazilian, despite the fact that he only signed a new contract last year.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich have also been approached, according to reports. According to the article, there is considerable disagreement in Paris, with some PSG board members opposed to selling Neymar.
Even Chelsea is interested
After Raphinha left for Barcelona, the Blues are thought to be hunting for new offensive targets. With Raheem Sterling already at Stamford Bridge, Thomas Tuchel is allegedly considering who else he can bring in to help the former Manchester City player.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is ‘lukewarm’ about Cristiano Ronaldo coming, with his agent Jorge Mendes discussing a possible deal with Todd Boehly.
Tuchel reportedly had a similar response to the prospect of Neymar joining the club!
The article does indicate, though, that the Blues’ position may alter later in the window.
Despite the rumours, there is one major reason why City and its rivals are unlikely to sign Neymar this summer.
According to the Independent, Neymar’s exorbitant salaries are regarded to be a key impediment to his move to the Premier League!
Having signed a new deal just last year, the Brazilian is said to be earning £35m per season. That could well price him out of any move, with very few teams able to offer him a similar salary.
