Managers on the move: Sampaoli to Sevilla, Emery to PSG

As they couldn’t achieve European glory, the PSG powers stated the past season as a failure according to their lofty standards, which means that manager Laurent Blanc is as good as gone. It appears that three-time Europa League winner Unai Emery will be appointed as Blanc’s successor, with Sevilla announcing that Emery has already left the club, and that they are negotiating with free agent Jorge Sampaoli, with whom they appear to have reached to an agreement today.

One of Sampaoli’s would-be suitors, Brazil, just fired Dunga for the second time, after their defeat to Peru and subsequent elimination from Copa America. With the Olympic Games just around the corner, the FA is definitely going to act quick, with Tite from Corinthians being the front runner for the post. Ramón Díaz, now former Paraguay manager, quit after winning three out of twenty matches at the helm.

Reports from Italy claim that Manuel Pellegrini is about to become AC Milan’s new manager, pending the sale of the team to a Chinese consortium and the recovery of Silvio Berlusconi from heart problems. It is also said that Pellegrini’s wage demands are over 6 million euros, which might be too rich for now.

Finally, the hot rumour from Italy says that Lazio is in advanced talks with Marcelo Bielsa. Bielsa, 61, last managed Olympique Marseille and rejected an offer from Chile after Sampaoli resigned. Hiring Bielsa would mean that Cesare Prandelli would be snubbed, just as he thought he had clinched the post.
