Kieran Trippier has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the option of a further year. The England international becomes the first signing under the new Saudi owners of Newcastle. Newcastle will be paying 12 million pounds plus add-ons as per the deal with Atletico Madrid. Newcastle United will be a top selected team in football betting in the coming years.

After signing the deal with Newcastle United, Trippier talked to the media and denied the rumours about his move and how it was solely related to money. “People say it’s about money? They’re entitled to their opinion,” the defender said.

“My family are most important. I wanted a project and a challenge. I’m brave, I don’t see this as a risk. I’ve got my reasons, I know them, and money isn’t one of them. I’m excited.”

The full-back said he feels no pressure in being the first addition under Newcastle’s new owners and is also interested in making his way back into England manager Gareth Southgate’s plans.

Trippier returns to the Premier League two and a half years after leaving Tottenham to join Atlético. He was previously at Burnley under manager Eddie Howe, who is currently in charge at Newcastle.

“I really enjoyed my time in Madrid, but when I became aware of interest from Newcastle United, and having worked with Eddie Howe before, I knew this was where I wanted to be,” Trippier said. “I’m aware there is a lot of work ahead of us but I know the demands of Premier League well and I know what an amazing club this is with very talented players.”

The 31-year-old believes that he can be a leader for the team, and now he will strive for the team to take them away from the relegation zone. The signing of Trippier can also be seen as a statement from their new owners. They want the club to stay in the Premier League next season and slowly build the team to be one of the best in the coming years.

Trippier signed for La Liga club Atletico Madrid on 17 July 2019 on a three-year contract, for a fee of 20 million pounds plus add-ons. He became Atletico’s first English player in 95 years. At the end of the 2020–21 season, Trippier won his first major trophy as Atletico secured the La Liga title on the final day of the season.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe was delighted after the signing of the English defender. “I am really pleased to welcome Kieran to Newcastle United. I have long admired his abilities and have followed his career, so when the opportunity arose to secure him, we didn’t hesitate.” : he said.
