Tottenham will face Chelsea on the second leg of the Carabao Cup as they will be looking to make a comeback after losing the first leg for two goals. Tottenham should, at their best to beat the Blues, and Antonio Conte will be very much aware of it. Tottenham betting will have an immense rise if they can beat Chelsea in the second leg.
Kai Havertz and a Ben Davies own goal gave Chelsea a comfortable 2-0 win last time out. Tottenham will have to try harder to win the second leg and try to reach the final. Otherwise, their chances of getting a title after 14 years will be lost again.
After the first leg, regarding Spurs’ performance, Conte said: “The first half, we struggled a lot from the start but we know that we are talking about one of the best teams in Europe, in the world, last season they won the Champions League. If you compare the two teams there is not a comparison. We are talking about a team ready to win. Today we have seen the difference between the two teams.”
According to head coach Antonio Conte, Tottenham forward Heung-Min Son is likely to be out for the rest of the month with a muscle injury.
Son sustained the problem in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg defeat at Chelsea, and a scan later showed he would be sidelined for the rest of January. It means he will miss Sunday’s FA Cup third-round tie against League One side Morecambe at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
This is the first-ever competitive meeting between Tottenham and Morecambe. Spurs have progressed past each of their last 20 FA Cup ties against sides from the third tier or lower since losing 2-1 at Port Vale in January 1988.
Tottenham have been linked many players after the winter transfer window opened up. In January, the Italian boss needs some reinforcements to fight for the top four.
One of the leading names connected with the Spurs is Dusan Vlahovic. It is reported that Tottenham is preparing a mage bid for the Fiorentina striker. He will be looking to move to a team that plays the Champions League. According to the transfer rumours, Antonio Conte and director of football Fabio Paratici have reportedly decided Vlahovic as the ‘ideal heir’ to Harry Kane.
The club is also planning to make some departures. The top name on that list is Tanguy Ndombele. Julien Maynard of Telefoot reported that French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is set to go out on loan this transfer window, even if his club Tottenham Hotspur would favour a transfer.
The likeliest destination, for now, would be Serie A, with Napoli the favourite for the time being, although Roma is also in the race. Jose Mourinho is even said to have called up the 25-year-old personally to enquire about his situation.
