Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United’s star striker, was frustrated during his team’s 2-0 Premier League victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Ronaldo, who started United’s last home game against Newcastle United, was benched by manager Erik ten Hag for the game against Spurs.
With the Red Devils in cruise control and in the driving seat with barely minutes till the final whistle, the 37-year-old rushed down the tunnel in despair.

With Ronaldo back on the bench, it appeared that United would once again fail to convert their excellent approach play into goals, despite having 19 shots on goal in the first 45 minutes.
However, Fred and Bruno Fernandes got the goals in the second half in a thoroughly deserved win that put the Red Devils within one point of the top four.
Only the heroics of Hugo Lloris in the Tottenham goal kept the score down on a chastening night for Spurs’ dreams of competing for a first league title since 1961.
“It was the best team performance so far this season,” said Ten Hag. “You see we are developing, but you see the last weeks how we want to play. We get better every time.
“Against this Spurs, which for me is a magnificent team, it was really enjoyable to watch it.”
Asked whether Ronaldo had spoke to him before walking down the tunnel before the completion of the match, United boss Ten Hag told Amazon Prime: “He was there, I have seen him, but I didn’t speak with him.”
In his post-match press conference, Ten Hag added: “I don’t pay attention to that, I will deal with that tomorrow. I want to keep the focus on the team.
“It was magnificent from all 11 players. I have to correct myself. It was also a performance from the substitutes who came on. Once again, it was a squad performance. I think what we have seen is 11 players who defend and 11 who attack. I was pleased.”
United will now take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
