Stats Zone: Rovers overcome Forest with a late decider


After a goalless first half, Blackburn Rovers took the lead in the second in the Championship game against the Nottingham Forest. The home side couldn’t find a way back and Wednesday’s game finished 2-1 for Blackburn.

The first half was goalless, but straight after half-time, Philip Zinckernagel made his mark as he found the net to give Nottingham Forest the lead.

Straight after the break, Daniel Ayala scored and equalised for Blackburn Rovers.

Right after this, it was Darragh Lenihan who netted ensuring that the team took the lead.

Nottingham Forest’s Jordan Gabriel was sent off in the 90th minute.

In the next round on Saturday, Nottingham face Stoke City away at bet365 Stadium, while Blackburn host West Brom.
