Ligue 1 action continued this past weekend with PSG taking on league leaders Nice. A good draw away from home ensured the leaders could take away some positives for the remainder of the season.
Ligue 1 was messy and chaotic and nerve-wracking during the condensed gameweeks 15 and 16. Only Nice and Lille emerged from it resembling some sort of form, while the others suffered mighty blows.
The fairytale ride of Nice has faltered for the time being, as the injury of Mario Balotelli has meant that the club from the southeast of France are barely getting over the line right now.
Huddersfield beat Reading in penalties in a tense and, ultimately, stalemate affair in the annual playoff game at Wembley, that sees the side managed by former Klopp protégé David Wagner get promoted.
The EFL Championship title-winners and runners-up have been decided, but the last spot for promotion to the Premier League is being contended by Huddersfield and Reading after their playoff victories.
Although missing out on the playoffs will leave a sour taste on Leeds' supporters, there are greater positives to take from this season, and it could get better once Radrizzani's takeover is complete.
